FESTIVAL PROGRAM
- 21st of June 2011 - The Pachamama Peace festival starts marking exactly on the 21st of June. In the indigenous traditions of the American continent we celebrate THE INTI RAYMI. This is known as the day outside time and when tribute is paid to the Earth. We will have the participation of elders from different parts of the globe, who are coming to the center of Oslo to bless it and show our gratitude to Pachamama. This is also the day in which The Pachamama reed boat will make its official entrance in Oslo. This venue will be held in cooperation with the Norsk Taiji Senter (Norwegian Taiji Center) at their headquarters in Bjørvika, Oslo. and Black Steed from Mongolia. Join this colorful cultural event with the taste of Asia and Latin America!
- 22nd of June 2011 - On the 22nd of June, we are preparing the most amazing event at the very center of Oslo (More info coming up soon). The Puerto Rican group, winner of 12 Grammy awards CALLE 13 is coming to Norway to give us a concert full of energy and Latin American spirit. CALLE 13Calle 13 gathered half a million people in Madrid and almost as many in Habana, Cuba. Their truthful message of social justice and their outspoken way in their songs makes of one of the best musical groups of the whole Latin America. Calle 13 has performed with legends like Rubén Blades, Mercedes Sosa, Café Tacuba and has also played together with Shakira. Calle 13 will rock the stage and bring us not only great music, but also incredible lyrics and message.
- The Great Internationally recognized band and multi-award winner in the hip hop gender OUTLANDISH from Denmark, will bring their best hits a mixture of Moroccan, Pakistani and Cuban/ Honduran music blend full of energy and good spirits.
- Chico Trujillo from Chile is also playing this day. The band was the revelation in last years Roskilde Festival.
- later that day and thanks to the Colombian embassy, we will be receiving the greatest SALSA band from Colombia " LA 33" to keep the spirits up during the whole evening.
- We will be having different speeches from the elder council and Latin America is bringing a message of PEACE ON OUR COMMON MOTHER! Come and help us bring this message forward to our world leaders. Oslo will be shaking these days.
Note: Your participation on this festival is making the first reed boat builder school possible and together we are also bringing the message of peace to the world.
We will keep on posting you about the new events that will be happening during that week.The festival will take place at Revierkaja just 1 minute walk (200 m) from the Opera building.
